We enjoy both fresh and saltwater fishing, and organise half day, day and overnight(s) trips to Kaikoura, Akaroa, Moeraki, Lake Coleridge and Lake Brunner.
A yearly competition is held with the Canterbury Clubs, along with a Mid-Winter Brass Monkey competition. The High Country opening at Lake Coleridge in November.
Clubs New Zealand South Island trout competition is held yearly at various locations around the South Island in March. Little fishing takes place in the winter, although occasional non-fishing trips are organised.
If you know of another place where the fish are willing to be caught, join the section and let the boys know. They would more than welcome the opportunity to organise a trip to your location.

Several years ago a few members decided that a Club beside the sea should have a Longboarders (Surf) Section.
This has proved very successful and we have an annual calendar of social and competitive activities.
If you’re into sun, sea and sand contact…………
We are a group of motor sport enthusiasts that like to get together and go to different events as they come along.
We have a varied group of members, some liking racing cars, others bikes and some liking all forms of motoring.
So far the types of events we have done are a tour of Stewarts Classic Cars. Bears Sound of Thunder at Ruapuna. A mystery car rally followed by a BBQ. Tour of Auto Restorations. BBQ fun evening with Steve & Jamie Duff at their yard going over their racing car. Buffet dinner at the New Brighton Club Restaurant.
We have a few awesome events in the pipeline.
If this sounds like something you would be interested in, please get in touch with either Allan 021833299 or Sonia 0274157357 for any information.

We don’t have competitions, but we’re a social group and have a lot of fun venturing around Christchurch and country areas at a reasonable cost.
We have occasional overseas trips and enjoy going on mystery bus tours.
We try to have a trip approx every 6 weeks or so, and the trips are well patronised. A great way to meet and get to know people.

The wine club is a great way to taste fabulous wines, improve your wine knowledge and meet new people. Meetings / Tastings are held at 6.30pm on the first Tuesday of each month at the New Brighton Club, except January. A Xmas function is held in December.
Wine section fee is $15 per year per person (pro rata). Tastings are usually $5 per person, payable at the door.
Guests may visit the club 3 times – after that, they must join as above. Wine may be purchased on the night at discounted prices – orders are taken on the night and you can pay with Visa,eft-pos etc. One order is sent to the winery for all purchased wine. At present all wine orders are collated by committee member Gay Longbottom and you will be contacted when they are ready to be picked up from Gay’s home at a specified time.
